    COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE


    Course description:
    In Australia we offer our international students a Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane)
    A commercial pilot license (CPL), is a type of pilot licence that permits the holder to act as a pilot of an aircraft and be paid for his/her work.
    The basic requirements to obtain the license and the privileges it confers are agreed internationally by International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). According to ICAO, to be eligible for a commercial pilot license, the applicant must;
    1. be able to read, speak, write, and understand English
    2. already hold a private pilot license
    3. have received training in the areas of a commercial pilot
    4. successfully complete the relevant written exams.
    This course includes both flight training and theory training – that means you will master the practical while engaged with the theoretical.

    You will complete a minimum of 150 hours flying which includes at least:
    • 70 hours as pilot in command
    • 20 hours cross country as pilot in command
    • 10 hours instrument flight time
    Duration
    52 weeks full time
    Entry Requirements
    • 17 years of age upon enrolment, 18 years of age to sit a flight test
    • International students:
      • a pass in an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall grade of 6.0 or equivalent; or
      • completion of Year 12 English at an Australian school or college, or equivalent
